The boys

I went on a trip to Taiwan with Keith in 2008 to visit our friend Dan. He was teaching English in Taipei at the time, and was gracious enough to host us during the Chinese New Year holidays. The trip was great fun — we ate our way around the city, from night market to night market, and traveled south to the beautiful Taroko Gorge.

There are tons of images to share, so I’ll start with the first evening upon our arrival.

We first ate at Dan’s favorite restaurant, a popular grill-your-own-food joint with a dessert buffet. We stuffed ourselves with food, then headed over to Shilin Night Market for the ultimate Taiwan experience. It was fascinating that this long, narrow street could house so many different types of vendors. And what amazed me the most was how efficiently cart vendors evacuated the crowded streets when there was a crack-down.
