Last week I suddenly had the craving to make pizza. Keith requested that we put goat cheese on it, so I went on a hunt for a good combination of toppings to accompany the goat cheese.

The recipe I found from epicurious worked wonderfully! The original was vegetarian, so I added Italian sausage to satisfy my carnivorous nature. I also left out some of the ingredients to keep things simple and fresh.

I loved the asparagus on the pizza! They added a punch of color and also balanced the deep flavors of the cheese and sausage. If you’d like to try it out, here’s the printable recipe, complete with the recipe for the thin crust dough. Enjoy!

this looks DELICIOUS! Your version looks even better than the one pictured on epicurious.

I have been wanting to try an asparagus pizza – what tool did you use to shave it so nicely?

    Thanks, Liz!

I just used my chef’s knife. Roll the asparagus around to find the way it’s the straightest, then cut it in half lengthwise. Then I chopped it into 1-inch pieces. The asparagus I bought were pretty thin to start with.
