I apologize for not updating sooner! I took an average of 300 photos per day on my 4-week trip… but forget the excuses. I’d like to start sharing what I’ve done on my trip before I forget :P The rest of my time in Lasalle and its surrounding areas was hectic! We went on some day trips out of Lasalle to Le Saralier (a goat farm), Anduze (to which we took an old stream train through the hills and rivers), and the winery Coste Longui\u00e8re in Lezan.<\/p>\n

Here are some highlights from our visit to Le Saralier on Day 5…<\/h3>\n

These goats are the epitome of free range, grass fed… Each day they’re led to the pastures to eat the grass and chestnuts fallen from trees. By the way, chestnuts, aka les ch\u00e2taignes, are a local specialty. Not only does the goat farm produce goat cheeses, they also make chestnut products like the chestnut flour we brought home!

After the goat farm tour, Laurie Ellen and Jen led the Sprouts kids to make a delicious dinner of P\u00e2te \u00e0 Choux, aka French gnocchi, and salad topped with goat cheese from Le Saralier. The owners of Le Saralier even provided a delicious red liquor for us to enjoy! Wish I could remember what it was called…<\/p>\n
