Featured on Silkroad Magazine
I’m so honored to be featured alongside 2 notable Hong Kong Instagrammers for the March issue of Silkroad Magazine.
Silkroad Magazine is the inflight magazine for Cathay Dragon airlines, an international regional airline based in Hong Kong. In the Tribes section of the Silkroad Magazine, we were featured as leaders of a community that has sprung up in recent years via the photo-sharing platform Instagram.
Featured with me were Edward Barnieh, @edwardkb, who works at Cartoon Network, and architect Vivien Liu @vdubl. They’re both known for their photographs of vivid cityscapes and street portraits, and are part of the group that got the Hong Kong Instagram community started.
It was only fitting that we got our photoshoot and interview at the Western District Public Cargo Pier. Now a household name for millennials as Instagram Pier, it has become increasingly popular as a photography destination. Did you know that it was Ed who added the name to Foursquare after spotting the pier from a junk boat trip?
In the article we discussed how we got started on our journeys as Instagrammers and what we think of the community. Be sure to have a look through the Silkroad Magazine on your next trip aboard Cathay Dragon! Also, you can read the digital version at the Cathay Dragon website.
A special thank you to Anshel Ma for the interview and Mike Pickles for photographing us.
