Lifestyle Portraits // Camesha
Camesha was living in Hong Kong and wanted to update her professional headshots and personal portraits. Originally from the States, she wanted to use the photoshoot to document her time in Hong Kong, especially her neighborhood Tin Hau.
With all these aims in mind, we crafted a collection of photographs that included different looks. Mostly Camesha wore casual streetwear for a leisurely neighborhood stroll, with a bright yellow leather jacket that contrasted some of the other more monochromatic looks.
For her headshot, she opted for an all-black ensemble with a chic blazer, which I paired with a simple grey wall as the backdrop. The work outfit could even be quickly transformed into an active look when she shed the blazer! It’s a great trick to save time, so we could have more time to shoot.
My favorite part of street portrait sessions like this was finding great spots for the subject spontaneously. While planning the shoot, I already scouted and had some key locations in mind, but it was fun to try some new ideas on the spot. For example, we were passing by a wire fence with lush palm trees growing on the other side. It turned out to be a fantastic spot for Camesha to pose, with the fence as something to touch, lean, and sit on that resulted in some very natural moments. The palm leaves also complemented her jacket so well!
I really enjoyed this portrait shoot and was glad to get to know Camesha through our time together. What a pleasure to meet such a warm and fun lady!
