I was fortunate enough to be part of a trip to Fiji for Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay. Staying at the new resort that opened earlier this year, I had the honor to be among top travel editors and influencers to immerse in local experiences.

During our three nights in luxury bures overlooking the lagoon, we experienced the wonderful Fijian hospitality and enjoyed once-in-a-lifetime excursions, such as a series of ziplines in the mountains, a helicopter ride to the Sheraton Tokoriki resort, a cultural exchange with local school children and craftsmen, and finished with a magnificent feast in the grand ballroom.

I was so touched by the warm kindness of the local people. I was always greeted with a glowing smile, and it seemed like every Fijian could carry a tune!

The most incredible adventure was the ziplining tour in Tau, Fiji. We were not expecting such a long series of ziplines through the mountain – 16 of them, to be exact! One could see how everyone was getting more confident as we went through the course in the 3-hour tour. The first half of the journey was an uphill hike with intermittent ziplines, leading us to a limestone cave with a haunted story and lookouts with magnificent views. Our way back down was an easier hike, and we also flew down our lines faster through the trees!

This surreal adventure came to an end at a blink, and I’m glad to have my photographs to remind me of the bright blue sea and friendly faces. I’ve only experienced a small piece of Fiji, and I hope to be back soon to enjoy this paradise.

Vinaka, Marriott!
